An innovative laser treatment that offers a superior solution for rejuvenating and resurfacing the skin. It is used effectively to treat fine lines and wrinkles, acne and other scars, stretch marks, enlarge pores, skin pigmentation and discoloration, sun damage, and uneven skin texture.
How it works
With fractional laser resurfacing the laser beam is broken up or fractionated
into many small micro beams which are separated so that when they strike
the skin surface small areas of the skin between the beams are not hit
by the laser and left intact. These small areas of untreated skin promote
a much more rapid recovery and healing. The small areas treated by the
fractional micro beams, cause sufficient laser injury to promote new
collagen production and resultant facial skin rejuvenation. The treatment
duration usually takes 30 minutes or less per session.
What to expect after the treatment
Immediately after the procedure, the face swells up slightly and appears
somewhat red. Patients notice immediate softening of wrinkles, fine
lines and scars. Thousands of tiny white dots about the size of hair
strand can only be seen close-up. Swelling subsides in 1 to 2 hours.
The white dots become darker and disappear by third or fourth day.
You will not see the results of the procedure until 2 months AFTER the
treatment is performed. Your body is sending collagen, blood, water
and oxygen to the face to tighten the skin. Because the treatment facilitates
the natural body cycle, the procedure takes a while to see the results,
but the treatment is more long term. You may need more than 1 treatment
depending on the condition or desired results.
